The Department of Digital Content is seeking applicants for a Professional-in-training/Internship.
Program/Unit Description:
The Department of Digital Content for the London Majors will have an internship program for 2025 in various areas throughout MajorsTV (Camera ops, Directing, Tech, Replay Ops, and Commentators). The Department of Digital Content for the London Majors is committed to bringing on a diverse staff and actively encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply. Each intern will also work with a member of the Majors media team as a mentor for the year.
Internship: Digital Content Production – Broadcasting
Supervisors: Matt Hiscox (Manager of Digital Content/Photographer), Keegan McArthur (Manager of Broadcast Ops/Producer)
Anticipated start date: May 1st 2025
Term(Approx.): May 1st 2025 – October 1st 2025
Required Qualifications:
- Broadcast experience (Set up, tear down, camera ops, commentating in sports or other experience)
- Experience in video production (shooting, editing, storytelling, understanding of video production)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Affinity for leadership development & community outreach
- Hands-on experience in broadcasting
- Demonstrated knowledge of video editing/production software
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Baseball Knowledge
- Knowledge of Adobe Suite
- OBS Knowledge
Internship Description:
The Manager of Digital Content (and others) will supervise and mentor this internship. You will have an initial period of observation and critique, followed by supervision as needed. You are expected to ask for assistance when needed. A general description of the internship opportunity is as follows:
Receive “hands-on” learning experiences with:
- Assisting in the conceptualization, shooting, and live video during the broadcast
- Collaborate with other units within the department including Graphics, Broadcast, Marketing/Promotions, and Development, in the production of content that meets department goals and objectives
- Utilize creative spirit to engage fans through engaging content that tells the great stories of athlete
- Setting up, Tear down, Clean up, Equipment understanding
- Creating a broadcast that fans across the league can enjoy,
Top Three Projects (Ongoing Projects):
- Bettering the MajorsTV broadcast
- Sponsored giveaways/events in the park
- Misc. projects for teams - intro videos, unique athlete stories, sporting event coverage,
Compensation:
Volunteer-based
